The following animations were made for the paper “Young children spontaneously invent three different types of associative tool use behaviour” by Reindl et al., published in the journal Evolutionary Human Sciences.

Animation of an experiment that shows a tool being used to break through a foil cover on a box and then used to extract a bottle cap from the box
Animation that shows a stick being used to remove a stone from inside a cylinder and then the stone being dropped into a box with a trap door to release a ball
Animation that shows a cotton ball and a stick used together to progressively extract water from a cylinder and then extracted in another container
Animation that shows a tool being used to remove the cover from a box and then used to extract bucket from inside the box with the handle of the tool
